Hawaii Preparatory Academy (commonly known as HPA) is a K-12 coeducational, private, day, and international residential school in Kamuela, Hawaii. Students at Hawai'i Preparatory Academy (HPA) live and learn among stunning landscapes, critical ecosystems, and a diverse range of world cultures. Their location on Hawai'i Island allows them to provide a high school curriculum unlike any other in the planet. HPA offers a challenging college-preparatory curriculum as well as the opportunity to plan and carry out your own real-world research, arts, or community initiatives. HPA encourages and enables you to develop skills, gain confidence, and produce an exceptional body of work for university and later life through capstone classes, 16 Advanced Placement courses, an award-winning Energy Lab, immersive local learning, and other distinctive initiatives. 

You may collaborate with NASA scientists planning a Mars mission or write an article for the Washington Post at our worldwide award-winning Energy Lab. You may perform your own stand-up comedy act or compose a science fiction novel in English 12. You can acquire your SCUBA diving certification or perform in the autumn musical as extracurricular activities. If you're an athlete, you may go outrigger canoeing or assist our varsity soccer team win the state championship for the third year in a row. And you can do it all with 80 percent of the world's ecosystems and the breathtaking beauty of Hawai'i Island just outside your door. The school offers an advanced curriculum in all subject areas as well as electives such as drama and music classes. Students can choose from over 80 clubs and organizations to get involved in including: robotics club; student government; chess club; yearbook organization; newspaper club; choir groups etc.

HPA has strong ties with local businesses and organizations such as the Rotary Club which helps support our students through scholarships and awards at graduation time each year!
