Whether you are going to or coming from a beautiful day at Pololu Valley this place is just one of those fairly tale end of the road type of stops. When you arrive at Fresh Off The Grid, it is almost as if time has stood still. It all starts with the views of the pacific ocean from the Big Island's most northern part, North Kohala. The unique old style colorful sign is so inviting that we just had to take a picture of it to share with all of our clients and customers right here on our website. This yummy and super delicious little shave ice stand is so Hawaiiana and everything that comes with it. It is right on the way to Pololu Valley Lookout so you can either stop in on the way there or on the way back. Their beautiful little artwork sign makes it super vintage island style.

The entire operation is solar powered serving local fruit and goodies that are super fresh from the ground to your mouth. Amazing views of the Pacific Ocean are plentiful and surround your every possible Hawaiian real estate dream. Three neatly kept picnic tables with umbrellas in case it rains are here for the guests and the parking it super easy and plenty of it. If a fresh coconut is something that you are looking for they have that ready to go. The banana mac nut bread tastes so good you would think it was made to order right on the spot. Super friendly staff at this little local spot make the experience 100% perfect for reviews. Tropical mix smoothies with fresh berries and their basil lemonade is a big favorite to returning visitors and residents.

The spot is very welcoming and a top refreshment location for hikers headed down to Pololu Valley. Since the hike is doable for most people the traffic for this business keeps it fairly busy. Especially during the winter months when we see more visitors than normal. One wonderful addition to their already fantastic menu is the tropical Kona Coffee ice cream. Very creamy and rich with flavor for sure. There is also an area to go and clean your hands and plenty of shaded seating to take a break in your day. A Hawaiian countryside delight that will more than likely be here with us for many years to come. The friendly horses and mules behind the fence are an added bonus to what life is all about living in beautiful North Kohala. on the Big Island of Hawaii.
