Considered and argued by many that Hapuna Beach is simply the best beach in the world. We agree and rightfully so. No other small shaped crescent beach anywhere gives off the ambiance and surreal sunsets like Hapuna Beach. Situated perfectly in between two powerhouse resorts Mauna Kea and Mauna Lani the location is almost out of a fantasy novel. For those who are well travelled, they can agree that Hapuna Beach is a very special place - not to ever be taken for granted. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to enjoy a small yet decent sized beach along one of the most sought after shorelines in the world, the Hapuna Beach is the one. There are some patrons on the Big Island that will only go to this beach on beach days and nowhere else.
Coming in as the Big Island's largest sandy beach, it stretches for almost half mile from north to south. The perfect conditions for kids to bodyboard on exist almost every day. Especially during the summer months. In the winter Hapuna can get a bit more crowded when the northern and mainland visitors come to Hawaii for reasons we all know way too well. With the winter come much larger swells and waves that are not so easy to navigate and caution should be exercised. All in all, this is a really nice beach to walk or job on as well. The sand is soft yet hard enough along the shores to help make your run go smoothly.
Hapuna Beach is one of the best beaches when it comes to infrastructure too. Plenty of parking, cooking grills for BBQ's, and pavilions spread out in ample style making it very easy to feel like you are alone and private. The palm trees constantly remind guests and visitors that this is not just a beach but a state park to add an extra little benefit. With the Hapuna Beach Hotel attached right next door down on the right it makes it even that much better for those who have the access and privilege to stay a night or more. Eating and dining are also available overlooking Hapuna Beach. It is one of those compact locations for beachgoers who know they want the absolute best.
