At the heart of it all as they say lies a deep historical truth. This truth bares all that a community is build to stand on. Kailua-Kona is a powerful and beautiful place. It has many amazing stories it bares and still others that will be sure to come in the future to be made. When visitors first arrive on the island many of them don't even head to their resort on the Kohala Coast first, they go to Kona instead. Why, because it is the heart of the islands as is little old Hilo town. There are so many feats and attractions to explore, restaurants to try, and activities to do. Kailua Kona is an unincorporated city and it's society manages to historical coffee sites for visitors to engage and continue learning about. It is also home to the World Iron Man Championships and it's finish line is right on Alii Drive across from the old King Kamehahema Hotel now known as the Marriott.
Real Estate in this wonderful place has never been the same. Time changes as do prices, this factor is basically inevitable as it sun setting over Kona each night. 250 single family homes ranging from the low $300,000's to as high as $52,000,000 for the most private and exotic estates imaginable. Resorts such as Kohanaiki, Kukiio, and Hualalai actually fall under the sphere of the North Kona location. When searching out websites be sure not to confuse them with the South Kohala search criteria and features. South Kona however is a completely different story. The prices are much more affordable due to the distance and proximity to town. Condos in Kailua Kona are all mostly fee simple ownership even though there are a few listed as leasehold rightfully so.
Keauhou offers an added touch of tourist like resort living where you can actually go for an evening walk or bike ride along the coastal waters of Kona and feel right at home. The beaches in Kailua Kona are always ever so lively offering a nice mix of visitors, residents, and kids playing in the aqua colors of the ocean blue. On the weekend you can see many passers by relishing in moments that only a town like this could even provide. Vacant land in North Kona is getting hard to find, at any given there are somewhere around 150 lots on the market in the MLS. The Big Island would not be the same if it were not for Kailua Kona and all of the little shops and what they offer. Real Estate at the luxury level is being scooped up with investors and owner occupant buyers knowing that this too has become a top tier retirement location in the world.
