A fantastic stop for a juicy burger and one of the best places for Dole whip ice cream. A Mexican-American flair for some of the best food available on the Big Island. Kohala Burger & Taco shop is one of a few small shops in Kwaihae, but that does not make it any less important to the small cluster of restaurants and shops there. Taking the main route north, it is located at Kawaihae Shopping Center on the left hand side of the road, just before you reach Hawi. This place is great for a juicy burger and frozen drink, all for affordable prices. Kohala Burger & Taco has been serving great food since 2010, providing delicious meals all the time. The restaurant offers a casual, friendly atmosphere in addition to yummy meals using old-fashioned methods. The restaurant has been successful for over twelve years, and looks forward to adding you to their long list of satisfied customers.

In addition to freshly prepared meals using local, grass-fed beef and line caught, wild fish, Kohala Burger & Taco prides itself on offering an atmosphere that is fun and makes guests feel like they have just returned home. The specialty restaurant is a fusion of burger-joint food and Mexican food, offering a variety of mouthwatering dishes. Besides the delicious homestyle burgers and flaky, delectable fish tacos, they make their own fresh bread and tortillas. They use grass-fed beef that is locally sourced, as well as homemade tortillas and taco shells. Their prices are low, especially when compared to the restaurants in the resorts nearby, the staff are also extremely friendly and helpful. This small eatery is one of the best deals in Hawaii. 

Add a milkshake, malt, or root beer float to your meal before finishing it off with an authentic serving of soft serve pineapple dole whip to complete the experience. Their recipes are all reflections of true classics that bring back the flavor of a 50's style diner. Their main goal at Kohala Burger & Taco is to ensure your complete satisfaction.
