When it comes to Hawaii's Big Island, the weather changes at as fast a pace as the landscape itself. Big Island is the most diverse island in the world, without a doubt. There are areas where there is no rainfall at all; it does not rain for the entire year and the land reflects that: it is dry like a desert. The weather can be wet all year round in other regions (like Hilo or Puna), resulting in lush environments for tourists. A detailed understanding of when to visit Hawaii's Big Island and the places to stay on the Big Island is also crucial. From reliable weather sources, these climate and weather figures were compiled, including data from Kailua-Kona and Hilo airports on the Big Island as well as information about monthly temperatures. Therefore, the "whole island" climate forecast should not be derived from climate summaries specific to the airport. Among other reasons, the Big Island's weather is subject to dramatic changes due to its trade winds, elevation changes, topography, and other conditions. Precipitation is showing in inches and temperatures are in Fahrenheit.

The best time to visit is between May and November, when daily highs average 29 degrees celsius and 84 degrees Fahrenheit. During the rainy season which takes place between December and March, the weather tends to be a bit cooler, with heavy downpours occurring higher up and, on the other hand, little to no rain in the valleys. The average daytime high temperature in the winter is 27 degrees celsius and 81 degrees Fahrenheit. Despite receiving less sunlight on the east coast, the east coast tends to have slightly lower temperatures during the same summer day compared to west Big Island. Coastal areas tend to be tropical and warm, however, be mindful of the fact that some areas (Hilo and Hamakua Coast) are prone to high rainfall, while other areas (Kona Coast and Kohala Coast) enjoy plenty of sunshine. It is a wonderful island with a wide variety of weather.

Despite the fact that Big Island weather conditions can fluctuate greatly from day to day, there is a general definition of climate as the prevailing patters of weather over the course of time. There are ten distinct climate zones on the island, which means there are different climates in different parts of the island. Hawaii's Big Island offers a diversity of habitats, from the eastern tropical rainforests to the hot, dry desert north and west from Kailua Kona, a temperate zone in the interior of the island, as well as the cold northern tundra along the tops of the Hawaiian mountains, encompassing everything between. Whenever you travel to the Big Island, you can expect lots of sunshine. No matter how cloudy it is at times, you will still be exposed to the UV rays so please remember to use sunscreen. Many tourists and visitors end up at the hospital while on vacation here after enjoying beaches like Hapuna because they think they will not get sunburnt. The impact from the sun is much stronger due to the fact that we are closer to the equator.

With daily ranges in the high 70's to low 80's it almost can be revered as the closest thing to heaven on earth.
