Set amidst rainy mystique the weather and elevation at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park couldn't get anymore refreshing if it could. The perfect location in East Hawaii this park exhibits natural beauty and wonders that can only be found here. It's website profiles some of the most amazing natural land on the planet, there is a reason it says born of fire, born of sea. Dancers with Ipu Heke are are just one part of the culture and history of Hawaii Volcano. The Big Island has more to offer than anyone could ever imagine. The Kilauea visitor center is just one fantastic place to get started when planning your visit. Here you will learn a vast amount of information in a short time span. More than anything though, you have to see it to believe it.

Historians estimate that volcano dates back to somewhere around 300 B.C. The biggest and most sought after attraction that every visitor would love to see - is an eruption. Not all will be able to experience this magical thing of beauty, but those who do will be leave speechless and in awe. There is also a legend that says you should not take the rocks from the mountain or volcano. If you do things will happen that are not so positive. The park holds rare vegetation and wildlife that can only be found here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Spreading is the actual meaning behind the word Kilauea. If that were not enough, 90% of the actual vegetation found in the park cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

Since 1983 more than 500 acres of land have been added to the park. This is all because the volcano is active and continues to create new flows in essence creating new land. Many myths and beliefs are said to be that since more and more visitors continue to come and view the flows this creates anger to Pele and she continues to devastate the land with new lava. If you are ever lucky enough to go and see an actual lava tube you will be part of something really unique and spectacular. Hawaii Volcanoes National park also has great places to eat, shop, and stay for the night or weekend if you like. It is one of the most visited places in the entire world and especially in the State of Hawaii. Another one of a kind location only possible to see when on the Big Island.
