The Tex Drive-In experience is not complete without trying one of their famous milkshakes. Tex Drive-In was established in 1969 by Ernest Souza "Tex" Texeira and his wife, Elizabeth. The couple had recently moved to the Big Island from California and decided to open a drive-in restaurant. The Tex Drive-In quickly became a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.
The menu at Tex Drive-In has remained largely unchanged over the years. There's something for everyone, burgers, hot dogs, chicken strips, fries, etc. The burgers are made with fresh, local beef, and the fries are hand-cut and cooked to perfection. The milkshakes are made with real ice cream and come in a variety of flavors. Tex Drive-In offers very affordable and delicious food. The burgers are only $3, and the fires are $2, the milkshakes are $4 and come in various flavors, including chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla.
