As one of Waldorf's Astoria's resorts, Grand Wailea has made a name for itself as a family-friendly vacation spot since it opened in the early 1990's. This is similar to the neighboring Four Seasons. The developer had installed the world's first water elevator in one of the pools to help his disabled son; today, it continues to be a popular amenity. Located among lush, tropical gardens on 40 acres, Grand Wailea is a gated resort located on Maui's gorgeous Wailea Beach. This beach was named one of America's top beaches. The Grand Wailea is one of several resorts on Maui that offer open-air lobby areas, but none is quite as enchanting as that found at the Grand Wailea. As well as the welcome lei upon arrival, guests can also expect to be escorted through the tropical open-air atrium with its Botero sculptures, draped in vibrant water fountains, and enjoying the breathtaking views of the ocean. This is a huge resort where you can find 780 hotel rooms, a huge spa with 50,000 square feet of space, a huge pool with several slides, a few restaurants, and even a chapel. Featuring generous sized rooms that range from 650 square feet to 1,100 square feet, all of these rooms come with private lanais. Depending on the rate, the views you get will depend on whether you get a garden views, a mountain view, or an ocean view. Our spacious guest rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs and feather duvets. In addition, the guest rooms have access to a private terrace. Bathrooms have a plush bathrobe, slippers, and designer toiletries.
