Deciding if Arizona, California, Florida, or Hawaii is the Best Place to Retire

We have been selling real estate full time for close to 20 years now. Specializing in a hot spot retirement area can have many perks to living and working in a typical environment with less movement and transition. I lived and worked in real estate in Minnesota and those type of clients in that area were usually familiar with their surroundings so there was less education involved so much on the area as their was on the actual property they were pursuing. With Hawaii and Florida it is much different than that.

And so, here it all goes. We receive numerous questions and inquiries about what it is really like to live in Hawaii. How is the weather, how are the jobs, what drives the economy, what do people do for fun. The list goes on and on. However, when all is said and done, it is a combination of factors that drive Hawaii prices so high and in our opinion will continue to do so for years to come. The weather is in the perfect mid seventies to low eighties year round from Kailua-Kona to the Kohala Coast. The blue pacific waters are here to stay. The beaches are the beaches and nothing more needs to be said. The safety in living on an island also has to be given credit. The cultural aspect of Hawaii is super special and the people are kind and gentle.

We receive a lot of emails from California buyers and Arizona interests as well. California and Canada have always drawn attention to Hawaii since they are both so close with a one shot direct flight into Kona airport. Although there may not be a massive demand of all sorts of careers here on the Big Island, the good news is that it keeps the low key lifestyle flourishing and you do not see all kinds of large box stores everywhere and major corporations setting up commercial buildings either. The best place to retire in our personal opinion is Hawaii. Not just anywhere in Hawaii, we mean Hawaii the Big Island of Hawaii. Some say that The Big Island is where the heart is. The heart of the islands. Hawaii has been rated as the second best retirement destination by Kiplinger. Add to this traveling, vacations, and most importantly everything else it has to offer.

If you look at the photo below you will realize that maybe the best things in life really do exist. At least on the Kohala Coast that is the way we feel with these types of views we are lucky enough to enjoy everyday. Working in real estate full time obviously has it's moments just like any other job or career. The good news is that we get to do what we love constantly and show real estate the quite honestly can't be expressed in words. You have to see the Hawaii luxury resorts and listings for yourself to know what it is that we continue to embellish in every possible way.
