There are many books written on the subject to help preserve this wonderful Polynesian life. With time and place, we attempt to delve into some of this context to provoke the idea of continuous education and exploration of one of the best locations to live anywhere in the world - The Big Island of Hawaii.

So it is written that the first Polynesians reached the islands soon after the birth of Christ so far away as 2,000 miles to the south of their original island homes. In addition, some 800 years later, other Polynesians arrived. In Bora Bora there is an island called Ra'iatea just off the coast of Tahiti. It is from here where the name Hawaii was derived, as this island previously used to be called Havai'i. Over time the settlers learned to work with the land and all that it had to offer, including wildlife, plants, rocks, and even spiritual forces.

Large voyaging canoes were used to transport visitors and settlers between their origin islands in Polynesia. The Ali'i ruled and continued to provide rules and regulations to those living here. There was enough abundance for everyone to live in peace and harmony. Formerly known as the Sandwich Isles to most Europeans and Americans, the Hawaiian Islands have now become one of the most highly respected places to live, retire, and possibly visit as a second home.

The quality of the landscape on the Kohala Coast especially, is such that it is not overrun with massive commercial ideology all while leaving everyone with the feeling of living in the spirit and realm of what old Hawaii was meant to be.
